France at times looked a little tense during their Euro 2016-opening match against Romania, as they created chances at will but couldn’t keep their composure enough to convert them into goals. Late on, they were tied at 1-1, looking for someone to save the day. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that it was Dimitri Payet who eventually played the hero.

Payet put together a typically dominant performance all night, skating past all number of Romanian defenders and setting up Olivier Giroud, only for him to (shocker!) hit the ball straight at the keeper. It was only when he took matters into his own hands and smashed in the above outside-the-box curler in the 89th minute that the pressure was finally released. Party in Paris!
