1. Cass Tech:  Cass tech is at the top and loaded once again. QB Rodney Hall will return as the Technicians QB and will have All American Donovan Peoples jones at the top of the numbers. The offensive line will feature Michigan state commit Jordan Reid. On Defense, it’s No joke. Donovan Johnson, Jaylen Kelly Powell, and Kalon Gervin headline the Cass Tech secondary which looks to reach its 7th straight state semi final. Cass Tech opens up with Oak park Saturday August 27 @ Wayne state with kickoff at 6:00 

2.  Walled Lake Western: Coming off the best season since 2012, WLW will look to get back to the state semi finals for a 2nd straight year. 2017 QB Johnny Tracey will be doing a ton of hooking up with MSU bound Cody White. It will be a tough start though, as they have big games against Canton and Northville early on. They open up against Farmington August 25th @ The Big House with kickoff at 7:00.

3.  Saline: Never count saline out from always being at the top. The Hornets have reloaded and will look to get their 4th District title in the last 5 years. Saline is haeadlined Arizona Commit TE Bryce Wolma. They will open up with Rockford on August 26th.

4.  Detroit Martin Luther King: King is coming off one magical season. Cruising through the season and playoffs, King finished 14-0 and Division 2 state champions. Although they lost a ton of talent to graduation, they still have plenty of pieces that could take them back to the title game. Returning is one of the top players in the state CB Ambry Thomas. The Crusaders will be without coach harvel who passed away late last month. Coach Spencer will be taking his place. King opens up on Saturday August 27th @ Wayne state vs Southfield A&T.

5.  Muskegon: The Big Reds will be looking to get to he regional title game for the 6th time in 7 years.  Key players to watch are QB Kalil Pimpleton and WR Jacorey Sullivan. Muskegon will open up against Ann Arbor Pioneer in the headline showdown @ The Big House Saturday August 27 at 7:00.

6.  OLSM:  This is one of the most Loaded teams st marys has had. They of course, are favorites to win the D3 state title. Even though stud receiver KJ Hamler left to IMG Academy in florida, Look for st marys to be up near the top again. They open up with a huge week 1 game @ Macomb Dakota on Thursday August 25th.

7.  Southfield: The New Southfield school is made up of both the Bluejays and Southfield Lathrup. Head coach Tim Conley had 120 players come out. After some cuts there are 70 players on the roster. Southfield will be very talented and deep but they will have to prove themselves in a strong OAA conference. QB Sam Johnson is bigger, older, and smarter now. He will look to lead them to a strong season and possible playoff run. Southfield opens up with Detroit King on Saturday August 27 @ Wayne State. 

8.  Lowell: It doesn’t change tradition wise at Lowell. Coach Noel Dean leads the red arrows on another quest to Ford field. Last season Lowell had their season end on a last second hail mary at ford field caught by MSU bound Donnie corely. Looking to rebound, The red arrows will reload and look to open up against Warren De La Salle and New head coach Mike Giannone on Friday August 26th 7:00.

9.  Detroit Catholic Central: The Shamrocks are back and loaded. QB Austin Brown will look to lead the shamrocks through a brutal central division. Outside the Dvision CC will play 2 Ohio teams in Toledo Whitmer, and St Ignatius. It will be a tough season for the shamrocks with a big opener on August 27th against Sterling heights Stevenson @ Michigan Stadium. 

10.  Belleville: The Tigers are star studded this season. 2nd year coach Jermain Crowell is looking to bring Belleville its first district title in the schools history. Loaded with a D1 secondary, the Tigers have Devonni reed a CMU commit, Jordan Ulmer an iowa state commit, Mj griffin, and Patrick Lupro. The tigers open up their season against Plymouth Salem.

11.  Canton: Canton returns about half its starters from last season. The most important being Markus sanders. The RB rushed for 2,495 during his junior campaign. No team will want any part of him. The chiefs will look to get back to the semi finals where they lost to Cass tech. Canton looks to open up their season against Dearborn Fordson on Friday August 26th @ 7:00.

12.  Clarkston: The  Wolves are returning a majority of the cast from last seasons team. 2018 RB Michael Fluegel had a ton of reps last season when Nolan Eriksen went down with a injury. The Defense will feature one of the best LBs in the state in Nick Stalworth. Clarkston opens up against Lapeer om August 25th @ the Big House.

13.  Dakota: The cougars are loaded once again this year. They return almost everyone on offense. New head coach Greg Baur will be the new head man on the sidelines. Baur was the teams DC before head coach Mike Giannone left for DLS. The Cougars are led by one of the best RBs in the state in Kaiser Carleton. Dakota will open up their season against St Marys on Thursday August 25th.

14.  Romeo: The defending state champions will return the entire O line and have some key pieces that will help them in route in back to back titles. The Bulldogs open up their season against Oxford on Friday August 26th @ 7:00

15.  Dearborn Fordson: The Tractors return 16 starters and should have a strong running game with the offensive line returning. Key players to watch out for are Virginia commit G Zac Darwiche, QB/ATH Hamze el zayat and LB Moe Amen. The Tractors will open up against the Canton Chiefs at Wayne state on Friday August 26th @ 7:00

16.  De La Salle: New Head Coach Mike Giannone will look to take the pilots back to ford field. Returning most of its players, The pilots will be a contender in the Division 2 playoffs. De La Salle will start off the season traveling to  Lowell on Friday August 26th with kickoff slated from 7:00

17.  River Rouge: The Panthers are a heavy favorite to win their division state title this season. Offensively they are led by senior QB transfer Jairus Grissom. On defense the panthers are led by safety Reggie Pearson. They will open up with Chelsea on Saturday august 27th at wayne state.

18.  West Bloomfield: even though they lost most of their seniors to graduation, the core of the group is coming back and will look to get back into the playoffs.  They open up with Birmingham Groves on august 25th @ 7:00

19.  Ann Arbor Pioneer: Pioneer will look to give saline the best challenge this season with Ohio State commit Antjuan Simmons  and Western Michigan Commit LB Derrick Hubbard. Pioneer will open uo the season against state powerhouse Muskegon at the big house on August 26th at 7:00

20.  Grand Ledge:  This will be a big proving point season. Returning most of its starters they look to get back to the semi finals after losing to eventual state champion the Romeo Bulldogs. Grand Ledge will open up with Hudsonville on Friday August 26th at 7:00

21.  Northville: The Mustangs will be well balanced once again and look to have another successful regular season. The KLAA is no joke and they will look to open up with a huge opening game @ Dearborn high on Thursday August 25th at 7:00

22.  Dearborn: right behind the Mustangs are the Pioneers who return most of their cast from a year ago. QB Mikey Phillips will lead the offense. Watch out for MSU commit Mustafa Khaleefah and Eatern Michigan Commit Ali Fayad. The Pioneers hoist the mustangs of Northville on August 25th.

23.  Muskegon Mona Shores: The Sailors had a perfect season go down after falling to Muskegon in the district title game. They will be well balanced on both sides of the ball and have a opener against Holland west Ottawa on Friday august 26th at 7:00

24.  Lapeer: going into its  3rd year of existence lapeer will look to have a third straight 10 win season. Tough task at hand week 1 with Clarkston @ the big house. Both teams are the hosts and should be a good one on Friday August 26th.

25.  Zeeland West: The Ducks will look to defend their state title with returning most of their starters on the offensive side of the ball. The ducks open up with Cedar Springs on Friday August 26th @ 7:00.
